Main Indexes Affecting the Performance of Fiberglass Dog Bone Insulation
- By : Insulation Materials
Main indexes affecting the performance of fiberglass dog bone insulation, which is a kind electrical insulation materials.
1. Insulation resistance and resistivity of fiberglass dog bone
Resistance is the reciprocal of conductance, and resistivity is the resistance per unit volume. The smaller the conductivity of the material is, the greater its resistance is, and the reciprocal relationship between them is formed. For insulating materials, it is always hoped that the resistivity is as high as possible.
2. Relative permittivity and dielectric loss tangent of fiberglass dog bone
There are two uses of insulating materials: mutual insulation of components of electric network and medium (energy storage) of capacitor. The former requires small relative permittivity, while the latter requires large relative permittivity, while both require small dielectric loss tangent, especially for the insulating materials applied in high frequency and high voltage, in order to reduce the dielectric loss, the insulating materials with small dielectric loss tangent are required.
3. Breakdown voltage and electrical strength of fiberglass dog bone
In a strong electric field, when the insulating material is damaged, the loss of insulation property becomes conductive, which is called breakdown. The breakdown voltage is called breakdown voltage (dielectric strength). Electrical strength is the quotient of the distance between the voltage and the two electrodes that bear the applied voltage when breakdown occurs under the specified conditions, that is, the breakdown voltage per unit thickness. For insulating materials, the higher the breakdown voltage and electrical strength, the better.
4. Tensile strength of fiberglass dog bone
Is the maximum tensile stress that the specimen bears in the tensile test. It is the most widely used and representative test of mechanical properties of insulating materials.
5. Combustion resistance of fiberglass dog bone
It refers to the ability of insulating materials to resist combustion when contacting with flame or to prevent continuous combustion when leaving the flame. With the increasing application of insulating materials, it is more important to improve the burning resistance of insulating materials. The higher the combustion resistance, the better the safety.
6. Arc resistance of fiberglass dog bone
The ability of an insulating material to withstand the action of an arc along its surface under specified test conditions. During the test, AC high voltage and small current are used to judge the arc resistance of the insulating material by the time required for the conductive layer to be formed on the surface of the insulating material due to the arc action between the two electrodes caused by high voltage. The greater the time value, the better the arc resistance.
7. Tightness of fiberglass dog bone
The sealing and isolation of oil quality and water quality are better.
